ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more

Have you ever heard Dr. Phil say "does it look like I have idiot written on my forehead?" Well today I started wondering if I had a neon sign on my forehead that says-- tell me your story random stranger-- oh and don't leave out any details.

That is after a little something happen again today for the 2nd time in a week--see over the last week I have been pulled aside twice by 2 separate people (both of whom I consider acquaintances) and they have told me stories about their love lives and believe me when I say they told me a couple of things that I couldn't (and maybe wouldn't) tell my best friend--especially without turning RED.... and I think-- what made them tell me that-- what on me says -- go ahead tell me everything.

And this is not the first or second time this has happened to me, it seems to happen a lot, it just seems to be standing out a little more lately. Once my hairdresser said to me-- why do I feel like I need to tell you everything? Don't get me wrong she is far from a stranger and someone I really like-- so for her to tell me stories is completely natural, but the irony behind that is she --in her role--- is normally the one doing the listening....

So I say this not to complain-- really--- I find people intriguing. I must say though, when they go too far--it is like one of those bad narrators in my head, (like Fred Savage on the Wonder Years) saying-- no no no don't saaaay iiitt- aw man (s)he said it..then I just give that polite smile and try not to turn red, and quickly change the subject.

So maybe one day I will crack the code-- I will figure out what makes the random stranger decide to tell me so much and maybe I will find the perfect words and/or body language that say----okay nice to chat but really---gotta go........and if I can't figure that out ----at least maybe I can figure out how to get paid for my time-- HA HA HA

An Empty Nest

An empty nest that is what we have this weekend. The kids have gone to Mimi's house for the weekend. The first time that we have actually stayed home with no kids-- And even though I was super duper excited about having a weekend alone with Joe--that excitement still wasn't even enough to ease the pit in my stomach as I watched them drive away with Poppi Friday afternoon.

So tonight is date night and normally I have two kids to get ready-- but now I just find myself thinking what can I do until Joe gets done-- Oh-- I will Blog-- sad huh? I am always thinking, I am tired, and would love to just sit here and rest-- just a minute. Now my babies are gone and I just don't know what to do with myself---Resting doesn't seem to be the best option though.

And you could hear a pin drop in our house today but when I call mom I hear nothing but little voices laughing with excitement, and when I say are you ready to come home-- they say NO :).

It is a great thing really-- a win win situation-- My mom is so excited she is talking a mile a minute everytime I talk to her-- telling me the next funny story-- the kids are excited and I can definitely say it is nice to have some alone time with Daddy--oh and did I mention-- tonight is date night-- and not just a date night-- it comes with no worries about getting home at a certain time, or paying someone to watch the kids, just an easy going night with my hubby---

I miss the little boogers and will be so glad to see them tomorrow-- but tonight I will just enjoy my hubby and a quiet home and get prepared for the busy mommy world again tomorrow afternoon.

Almost Busted...

Sometimes I just don't know where I get my skill......

Saturday night, Joe and I were playing Easter Bunny and as I was walking down the stairs my foot slipped and I slid halfway down the stairs-- I hurt my tail bone so bad -- and my elbow-- Joe was laughing so hard he was crying-- and it didn't help that my hands were full of Easter toys -- so that stuff went flying down the stairs-- and between the stuff rolling down the stairs and me going thud halfway down, it is a miracle we didn't get caught because it was very loud.... and if either one of the kids would have gotten up-- we would have been busted---arms full of stuff... well at least Joe still had his arms full of stuff..mine was at the bottom of the steps--

Thankfully nothing broke--on me or the toys--

OMG.....

Yes I just titled this blog--OMG--(text messaging slang for OH MY GOD)...like a silly little teenage girl-- and that is exactly what I felt like last night at the Michael Buble concert as we walked quickly up to the stage to get as close to him as possible-- and that we did close enough to see the sweat pouring from his face-- OH WHAT A NIGHT-- a last minute deal that turned into quite the adventure-- I recommend everyone go to a Buble concert--it was cool that we got so close-- but close or not the concert itself was just unbelievable!!!! How do you like this pic-- by the way-- no zoom was needed-- we were that close----

Cat Napping

I think it is cute when Payten sleeps with her little eye mask-- I snuck in and got a picture last night. It is funny she wants every light in her room on but puts the mask over her eyes... Oh well I don't question it she looks too cute in the mask....

Spring has sprung

Look! the fish are out in our Pond-- Joe went fishing for these in his friend's little Koi Pond sometime during the winter, okay not with a pole or anything--but I wish I had pictures from it-- he was using his hands and almost fell in a couple of times after them.

Anyway-- I think as soon as he put them in our pond they must have swam to the hiding pot and we had not seen them until now. It is getting warm enough for them to come out-- how exciting-- I love this time of year and even more with fun stuff like this to enjoy---

Next will be cookouts, and Smore family nights-- and maybe even outdoor Skipbo playing-- I smell spring in the air-- and I am already feeling excited about all the great things that come with it

P.S. we are working on the green water :) but the fish are happy and that is all that matters right :)

A Daddy's Proud Moment

This morning as I was getting Carter ready for school and our conversation was as follows:

Me: Oh your fingernails are long we have to cut those

Carter: Uh Uh they are "pretty" (as he rubs one finger over top of them)

Me: Who told you those long nails are Pretty

Carter: Uhh Mrs. Header (that is Mrs. Heather)

Needless to say I cut them-- when I took him into school I told Mrs. Heather the story-- she said that he got that from her because he was looking at her finger nails after she got them painted and she started rubbing her own nails and said "Aren't they Pretty"

I thought it was pretty cute-- Dad was less impressed ---

Mi Vida Loca...

For those of you non spanish buffs-- Mi Vida Loca means ---My Crazy Life-- I took French in school so the only reason I know this bit of knowledge is because of the country song you hear currently playing on my blog---- anyway I have digressed-- I AM BACK-- did you miss me???

I had my last week of training for that "business stuff" (as Mindy calls it) last week, so I was gone all of last week-- now this week I have been spending time with Joe because he is leaving today and will be gone all weekend for a trade show--- so needless to say-- Life has been a little crazy-- thus the disappearance from blogger world-- but I am back (on vacation even--- today and tomorrow--YIPEE) and thought I would give you a couple of highlights from the last several weeks--
  • Finished training-- passed my test, and did a presentation and was proud of myself for not getting myself too worked up about it (although my fam and friends may disagree about the worked up part) --but when it came time for the actual presentation-- I was nervous but not like normal-- so I will take what I can get
  • Ate too much-- gained weight-- now game is on-- have to lose weight to win my "weight loss bet"
  • No more pottying for Carter-- he just sits there-- guess the first time was a fluke-- but he keeps telling everyone he did it -- I think he must think that is all he needs to do--he must think I accomplished that-- what is next :)
  • Payten lost another tooth--that is 6 now, 2 of which she pulled on her own-- which is weird because I can't even pull a tooth of hers without feeling the heeby jeebies-- in fact I haven't pulled any of her teeth for that reason
  • It has been sunny this week-- a great thing to come home too
  • Spent way too much time in airports lately--but did enjoy the people watching and found out I really like Washington-Reagan airport it has a Five Guys-- YUMMY--
  • KNOCK ON WOOD-I stayed away from most of the yucky sickness going around--unfortunately the kids and Joe got some form of it--
  • Learned how to email from my cell phone-- always fun to learn new tech skills--now I can take pics on my phone and email myself-- I knew there just had to be a way---

Okay that is all I have for today-- you would think I would have more after being gone so long but I have to go clean the house now so once that is done maybe I will be inspired again -- I may even find some interesting things while I clean that are blog worthy-- considering how much I have been gone I wouldn't doubt it.........

BTW like the new blog look? Thought I needed something a little lighter for the springtime
