THE VIDEO--EEEEKKK

I can only post this because Payten doesn't read my blog yet-- only when I point something out to her-- and hopefully when she is old enough to actually read this on her own she will find this funny

Today she watches "THE VIDEO" and she keeps reminding me-- mommy remember the "PINK PAPER" you signed, that's tomorrow.  Yes, Yes I remember.  When I signed the paper I said--Make sure you only ask Mommy questions not other girls because I want to make sure you hear things from me that are true (I keep reminding her).

Yes, I am setting myself up for all of the questions, I know-- and yes I am slightly (overly) not looking forward to it--and yes I am on my own (Joe currently wants no part in the matter--he did tell me he would talk to Carter in time-- but I am nervous about that after he told me his speech :)), and yes I am nervous, and yes I have no clue.

But thankfully last night the women of my Lifegroup (which met a night earlier this week, perfect timing, thank you God) reminded me of an excellent resource  http://www.focusonthefamily.com/  which I studied last night (just like I do road signs before my license test, which by the way Joe thinks is crazy), anyway this site was very helpful-- and I am getting a book from the site, the title sounds perfect for me-- This way I can make sure that if I don't answer all of the questions tonight I can follow up after reading :). (And yes I am going to make Joe read this too!!)

(ps. have I ever told you I ramble when I am nervous)

Family time

On one of the recent warm Sunday afternoons-- Joe had the idea that we should go hiking in one of our local parks.  So we did-- and boy was it fun.  A great Sunday afternoon-- next time I just need to remember water-- what mom forgets water for hiking?? Oh me .. I guess you learn as you go, next time I will be more prepared.

The cool thing is I had my phone-- yes we were dehydrated but we weren't going to get lost --(I have seen those scary Discovery channel shows) and we definitely were not going to not have a cute pic from the adventure

Love is in the air....

This is one of those stories I just don't wanna forget---

Background:
About three weeks after Kindergarten started Carter came home and said "Mommy, I love Jillian, we always give each others love"
At my 6 week conference with Carter's teacher, Mrs. Bell says.. "Has he told you about Jillian?  They have a special relationship"
So on Valentines day Carter got Jilly a special little Valentines bear and Jelly bracelets, a couple weeks later she got him some glow in the dark Silly bands.

So on the way home from school that day Payten and I were asking him about getting a present from Jilly and the conversation went something like this:

Me:  When did Jillian give you your Silly bands?

Carter: In afterschool

Me: What did you do when she gave them to you?  Did you tell her thank you?

Payten:   Did you give her love?

Carter: Les (his version of yes)

Then there was this sudden silence maybe 3-4 mins

Carter: I know what you tinking bout

Me: Who?

Carter: You and sissy

Patyen: What are we thinking about?

Carter:  You tinking I'm falling in love

Me: Well we weren't thinking it before-- but maybe we should now

Carter: MOMMY

One of my Favorites

I know I mentioned this previously--but I recently discovered that I love taking pics, and LOVE my CAMERA.  I just normally have to take about 100 to get 1 good one-- I wish my odds were better but I will keep trying -- anyway this is a favorite of mine (and if you must know I took 195 pictures in this batch)

My Terrific Kid

Payten was chosen as Terrific Kid, the area of "Terrific-ness" was Compassion/Kindness.

The reason for her nomination you might ask?  Well here it is in the words of her 4th grade teacher:

"Payten is always the student that is willing to help any of her peers.  If they are hurt she will ask them if they are okay.  If they need help with academics, she is always willing to give them a hand.  One of Payten's best characteristics is her willingness to stand up for others and say something is not right or come and tell an adult.  She is always smiling and that will light up any room.  She is truly a one of a kind student with such a tender heart.  Way to go!"

(and yes-- I did put the bumper sticker on my car-- even though I said I never would --and I am sporting it proudly!)

Hee Hee Hee Haw Bawl

You know how at the end all of the Hee Haw shows everyone always ends up in the corn fields, just that part you always came to expect on Hee Haw. I recently told Joe I felt like that was us. Each day goes by, hustle bustle, school, work, activities, and at the end of the day there he and I sit on the red couch in the bonus room. Legs kicked up watching t.v. Something we have come to expect. (however we are not normally telling corny jokes).

I sure have missed my Hee Haw, Cornfield, Bonus Room, Red Couch buddy this week. But in 24 hours we will be back on our couch, I can't wait-- and tomorrow comes with an extra added pre-planned bonus of date night movie and Cookout Milkshake!!

Hurry home safely Joe-- and may you always be the star of my Hee Haw Show :)

(ok for those of you that didn't have the privilege of watching Hee Haw growing up-- ignore this post it will make no sense)

For the Records...

On Friday March 25th, Carterboo lost his first tooth-- and it was pulled by his Sis (good thing she likes doing that kind of stuff cause is gives me the willies) -- Needless to say -- they were both very proud!!
