ROAD TRIP to Chatta Vegas

Traveling for work is just not much fun-- mostly because I am leaving the fam--but it helps to travel when you are traveling with friends--and you are going to a place where your friends live-- This week I hopped in the car for a Gail and Oprah style road trip with Jilly-- My friend that used to be my boss-- yes there was work to be done, and we got that done, but we had a little fun too-- oh and BTW I remembered my camera this time-- here's how it all happened

This is Jill

and this is the Green Chariot that Jill picked me up in Monday morning --

(By the way-- the Airport told her this rental was midsized-- well this is the first "midsized" car I know of that didn't fit two suitcases in the trunk, and barely fit two drinks in the cup holders up front----but it sure did give us laughs trying--)

We had our trusty side kick-- Carmen the Garmin (thanks Jordan and Kylie for the name)-- she was like Kit the car in Knight Rider-- and I even talked to her a couple times--

The drive was beautiful-- we got great scenic pics, here is one but I will post more in a slide show-

We had the drink of champs to keep us energized--

And I made friends (go figure) with the lady at the BP in Sweetwater Tenn, and got a free cup of ice for my Dt Mtn Dew--

We stayed in a 5 star hotel--

With an awesome pool--

And a spectacular courtyard--

Check out the inside

(okay only one of the pictures is really from the hotel-- the rest are from a hotel on the side of the road that Jill and I had quite a time laughing at-- I will let you decide which is which)

I got an AWESOME tour of downtown from an awesome tour guide and friend: Donna K--(BTW it was great seeing you Donna)

Here she is giving the tour

And here are a couple of cool pics from Downtown-- (PS more to come in a slide show once Donna gives me the names for the sites, not that I wasn't a good listener or not paying attention-- but my memory just isn't what it use to be)

And had the best Sweet Tea ever--every time I had sweet tea in Chatt it was great (even better than Janey's, if you can believe that Mindy)

We saw fun people at work-- like
Cathy

And Diana

And came home in what Jill called our Hearse --

(okay long story short-- we traded the "midsized" green ghost for something that fit both of our bags and had cruise control- but it took us our entire ride home to figure out where everything was in the car-- it puts buttons in odd places-- and BTW it was "leaking" gas-- oh nevermind that was because it was overfilled by Jill who thought the temp gauge was the gas gauge and didn't understand why it kept staying on half full)

So there it is a quick summary of our 4 day trip to the big town of----

Thanks to the Chattanoogans for being great hostesses, and thanks to Jill for a ton of laughs!!! More cool pics to come
